I hate myself I think

I write this comic so everything that happens and everyone in it is just a figment of my imagination and in some way shape or form a part of me. This comics Philip is different from the real world one, he has more of my characteristics in him I suppose, that said...I want myself to get hit by lightning? weird.

Styles

It's weird writing things on a weekly basis and noticing your style developing slowly but steadily so every once in a while as a writer you try to escape the clutches of your own style and go somewhere else with it and that's what I tried to do today. My humour is VERY dialoguecentric, I like the obsurd fast speaking with lots of non-information in a sentence and things happening in the background that are funny little bits that don't have anything to do with what's going on in the foreground. The problem you have to face at some point is that your style doesn't fit what you're trying to accomplish and my style is not one that goes from joke to joke without care, I try to link it, make it make sense inside of a bigger picture and referr to what happened before.

tldr: Today's comic is a lot more like a sketch than like a sitcom or a comedic movie, hope you enjoy it.

From a different perspective

Ever tried to see your own problems from the position of the person you are telling it to? My friend I have news for you, either you change their view of the world and their way of thinking or you sound like a whiny bitch. Guess which one of those two happens more often.

Pretty sure I've mentioned this before

If you want a challenge then play Indie games, that is just a fact of our modern gaming culture and it's never been more obvious than with Spelunky I think. Spelunky is an amazing randomly generated platformer that hates you with every pixel inside of it and it wants you to constantly die but it's oh so fun. You learn the different puzzle pieces of the game, the enemies, the traps, the shops and much more and you can put them together in your head but then comes a moment where you throw a rock at an enemy but fall down a ledge faster than the rock fell, the rock falls on you while you are standing on an ancient sacrifice table and because you get knocked out from the stone dropping straight on your head, you get sacrificed to khali. It's the kinda game that is fun despite of or maybe even because of it's challenge and if I ever play it together with my friends again in multiplayer I might have to kill someone.

Character archetypes

Let me tell you something about the depiction of women and men in modern media.
Okay please put those pitchforks away, I'm going to try to be reasonable here for once!
Let us not discuss if women are treated unfairly in our modern times because that will just bring hate upon me, let's instead try and focus on how people try to get rid of that prejudice and that is the modern archetype of the male manchild and the female know-it-all and can-do-it-all.
To further argue my point we make an assumption here that is often made in modern media and that isn'T far from the truth, that being that women can do everything men can do just as well. Okay I can accept that and following from that you can deduce that men can do everything men can do just as well. That was obvious! I hear you say but bear with me here because this is an important thing to set into stone before moving on, YES men as a whole can do certain things that women as a whole can do just as well and individuals within these preset groups can do things just as well as the other individuals. SOMETIMES.  Some women CAN'T play soccer as well as men. Revolutionary and chauvinistic idea isn't it? Until you realise that what I mean is that there's women out there who are worse at sports than male proathletes, but just because I compare them to men it's suddenly egotistical and wrong of me to say this. No it fucking isn't wrong, that particular woman may be worse at this particular thing than most men are at it, that doesn't make women as a whole worse it just makes that girl bad at that thing.
For some reason we have to portray all men in media as manchildren these days and mostly in webcomics that makes the woman the loving and charming person that understands why the male characters blow shit up but they still love him for it because it makes him quirky.
I'm not going for that in Alice, she's just as batshit insane as the rest of us, maybe not in the same way but she's still fucking crazy and that's the most adult way of going about it is not making her point out how superior she is to make us realize that women are equal( which by the way is the most retarded way of doing it because you're clearly stating that you're BETTER than men and not equal so wtf?) but instead make her just another freak in the freak kingdom.

From a different perspective

Is that really how you perceive a romance story that someone wrote about himself and a fictional character? I mean granted most fanfictions revolve around that same principle but those stories usually make any character inside the romance story into zeus and thor at fucking once. Writing a story about yourself is admittedly weird in a way shape or form and it's ridiculously hard to show yourself in the way that you are, with bad and good but I think I did a pretty good job os it in the comicy sense that we have done here, but the question that Philip raises with this. Is it weird to portray yourself with fictional characters or in a fictional way? Even more so is it weird to make OTHERS portray you in such a way? Comissioning drawings of yourself on a unicorn with a character you made up, making sweet sweet love to one another isn't weird is it?
Of course it isn't! That'S what stories are after all, everyone who writes just splits himself up into a thousand parts and keeps reinventing himself over and over again or he uses traits from people he knows and loves and puts those into the characters, and don't even get me started on people who draw themselves with giant guns in tuxedoes and masks.
Sure I'M the weirdo.

but the comic you need right now

He's back and not with a bang but with a whimper! Yeah it was really anticlimactic, he was just sorta there still being pissy about the Deutsche Bahn and talking about mud...I dunno, ask him.

Done with that

Have I mentioned yet why Louis is making these? Philip is at friggin Wacken which is like the biggest metal festival.... That kinda scares me to be honest because well...what has he been up to? He's Philip! I feel scared and weirded out at the two prospects that I have in my head one being that he is just straight up dead because someone did something or which is for some reason worse in my head the other prospect that he socialised with EVERYONE there has a billion friends now and more gils on his hands than he has hands...and maybe even feet too...so weird.
